hey, i'm emily.
I grew up in Indiana, just south of Indianapolis. I have two wonderful parents and a brother that make up my close-knit family.
When I graduated high school, I set off to Greenville College in Greenville, IL, just east of St. Louis, MO, where I studied Early Childhood & Elementary Education. I also worked for the Greenville College Student Association as the Executive Vice President. It was in this role that I found my love for event planning. I planned the Presidential Inauguration in fall of 2014; orchestrated a retreat for students around the topic of engaging culture; and managed countless student-initiated college improvement projects.
Through these experiences, I learned what event planning and coordinating was really about: creating an experience.
First, the experience is for those who are attending. Attendees come with an expectation to be entertained, impressed, and to have a good time. Second, the experience is for those who are involved in the planning. On this spectrum from the attendees to the planners, everyone has a different assumption and expectation. My goal in planning events is to create an experience for each entity to be fulfilled in their assumption: meeting them where they are at, enjoying the experience, and leaving with sore bodies from dancing and joy in their hearts.
